Bit of a hotch-potch of items in today's post, so please excuse the non-linked nature of all the subjects.

Ante-post
Bit annoyed with myself, because last night I visited my lay of Arsenal to make it into the top four... and accidentally closed the trade! I was toying around with closing positions, working-out when would be the optimum time and price to trade-out and then hit the wrong button. Oh well.

I could reopen the trade of course as the odds have now come back in with Arsenal's win today, but for some reason I feel a bit more reluctant this time (these things are "of the moment"), so I think I'll leave it alone from now.

I do still have £200 on Portsmouth to be relegated at 1.60, which I think is decent value seeing as they are yet to get their 10 points deduction and they're still playing with ten players brought in at the last minute on one-month contracts. The remaining playing staff are not worthy of mention. They've also lost their last two and drew the first two so are in the bottom end anyway.

AVB
Sounds like there's a bit of unrest in the Spurs camp already (something I was worried about). The Express had an article stating that AVB was unhappy with the transfers that have been foisted on him, leading to early tensions between him and the Spurs board. The BBC have an article in which AVB is already having to defend himself, asking the fans for patience after they booed the team off at White Hart Lane on Saturday - and to cap it off, William Hill are already offering 5/2 that AVB leaves Spurs by the end of the season. Not exactly encouraging stuff.


In-play delay
Noticed a difference in the in-play delays today. The Liverpool v Arsenal match started off with a 5 seconds delay, but then for a small period in the second half, we went up to 8 seconds, but after 15 minutes or so, we went back to 5 seconds. The Southampton v Man Utd game (exciting game by the way) was solidly 8 seconds all the way through.

So what's going on? What are the reasons/criteria that decides the in-play delay? I've no idea but it would be nice to have a reasoned explanation.


Fink Tank
Besides my usual trading, I've also set aside £1,500 for straight bets based on my own stats - but also £1,000 (100 point bank) for those selected as value by Fink Tank. I skipped the first two games, but have started a careful sub-selection based on my own additional criteria. Three bets this week, all on Pinnacle:

Decent enough start, but I have to say I'm only running these bets as a bit of fun.


Weekend Trading:
Decent weekend for me, and have so far suffered no losses during my trading throughout the season so far. Of course I will get some along the way, but after a good start I'm trying my best to avoid any from now on.
